Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors
(2025)
As the Scenic Designer for CalArts’ 2025 student production of 'Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors', I collaborated closely with my friend and director, Shannon Siegel, to bring this outrageous spoof of the classic tale to life. From the early stages of assembling references and drafting preliminary sketches, I moved into detailed drafting and 3D modeling to fully visualize the space. I oversaw the scenic build from load-in to strike, managed budgets and material sourcing, and coordinated with the director and stage manager to ensure all elements were safe, durable, and feasible within our timeframe. I also solely executed the scenic painting process, using layered techniques and textured finishes to exaggerate the gothic-meets-camp aesthetic of the piece. Throughout, I made sure my design supported the show's blend of classic horror, slapstick comedy, and occasional thrills, aligning every scenic choice with the director’s vision and the story’s tonal shifts.

Color Elevations
Color elevations made with a combination of Photoshop, Autocad, Illustrator and Procreate to represent the paint and wallpaper treatment which would be applied to the four flats used in the design- including the concept of a blacklight activation for when Dracula first appears in the show.
